I’ve loved writing as long as I can remember and my first published work was actually some poetry in the high school yearbook (we didn’t have a school newspaper) and then I wrote some book manuscripts that sat in my desk drawer for a very long time.
My first paid and printed pieces were for two cosmetology trade magazines; one for students and one for instructors, and I still have the very first essay in a frame today. I will always be thankful to and remember the editor who believed in me and my work.
Today, I am connected to her on LinkedIn – one of the better benefits of social media. Looking forward to seeing more of my work on the slick, glossy pages of magazines or as part of their digital content!
Take care!
